Latch External – Used on the front side of the canister, right behind the divers shoulders. Notice the tab’s you would use to open it are turned outwards so they are easy to unlatch even when sitting between your canister and backplate.
Internal latches are used on the back (exposed) side of the canister to minimize snagging hazards.
